About

Nostalgia is power.

Rebecca Rose, who innately cherishes the past, is a native of Manhattan’s bygone Upper West Side (cultural source of her garrulous, goofy firebrand eclecticism.) Latterly a travel-writing francophone resident of both the UK and France, as an American citizen in her early twenties she nearly succeeded in permanently expatriating to the civilized European West. Cruel fate intervened; after returning to New York, she gradually witnessed the extinguishing of the megalopolis’ iconoclastic soul by combined forces of hypergentrification and megacorp. Ultimately she escaped to the kinder, gentler, craggier shores of New England, where she resides in once-magisterial, post-industrial Malden, just north of Boston. Sometimes blissfully manic; sometimes sardonically enraged; sometimes righteously indignant; sometimes desperately morose; and sometimes pleasantly becalmed, she spends inordinate amounts of time enjoying Victorian and natural landscapes and dealing in related collectables.
